Ingredients
Vanilla ice cream (2 large scoops
preferably premium or French vanilla)
Hojicha loose leaf tea (2 teaspoons) or hojicha tea bags (2 bags)
Water (1 cup or 240 ml)
Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Crushed roasted nuts like almonds or pecans (optional)
Sweetened red bean paste (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the water in a small pot, then remove from heat and add the hojicha tea. Steep for about 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea if using loose leaves, or simply remove tea bags, and let it cool slightly.
- In a serving glass or bowl, place 2 large scoops of vanilla ice cream.
- Pour the warm hojicha tea over the ice cream until it reaches your desired level.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, crushed roasted nuts, and/or sweetened red bean paste if desired.
