Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 medium onion chopped
3–4 cloves garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
3/4 cup beef broth
1 cup heavy/whipping cream
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
2 cups (packed) fresh baby spinach
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning for added flavor.
- Mix in the uncooked orzo pasta, tomato sauce, and beef broth, then bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
- Fold in the fresh spinach and cook until wilted.
- Finish by mixing in the grated parmesan cheese, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
