Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Add green food coloring until you reach your desired shade.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Frost cooled cupcakes as desired.
