Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until well combined.
  • Stir in the molasses, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves until mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the baking soda with the flour, then gradually add to the wet mixture along with the water. Mix until a stiff dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into your preferred gingerbread house pieces.
  • Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until firm.
  • Once cooled, decorate with icing and candy as desired.
