Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
1½ teaspoons salt
1½ cups warm water
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
3–4 cloves garlic
minced
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs or chopped rosemary
Flaky sea salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and spread it out on a greased baking sheet.
- Dimple the surface with your fingers, then top with minced garlic, grated Parmesan, herbs, and flaky sea salt.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
