Description
Fluffy Nutella Bombs are delightful, soft dough balls filled with rich Nutella, perfect for a sweet treat or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
1.8 tsp dry yeast
2 cups flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
3 tbsp softened butter
Nutella spread
icing sugar for dusting
1 tbsp milk
1 egg yolk
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the warm milk and dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, caster sugar, and softened butter. Add the yeast mixture and the egg, and knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small balls. Flatten each ball and place a spoonful of Nutella in the center, then wrap the dough around it.
- Place the filled dough balls on the prepared tray. Beat the egg yolk with 1 tbsp of milk and brush over the tops of the bombs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with icing sugar before serving.
Notes
For extra richness, ensure butter and egg are at room temperature before using. You can substitute Nutella with any hazelnut chocolate spread.
