Description
A rich and creamy white hot chocolate made with real white chocolate, milk, and vanilla. This cozy winter drink offers a smooth, buttery flavor and is perfect for cold evenings, festive gatherings, or a comforting homemade treat.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients:
4 cups (1 liter) whole milk
1 cup (170 g) chopped white chocolate or white chocolate chips
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Optional Toppings:
Whipped cream
Mini marshmallows
White chocolate shavings
Crushed peppermint candy
Ground cinnamon or nutmeg
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate
Chop white chocolate into small, even pieces for smooth melting.
Step 2: Heat the Milk and Cream
Warm milk and heavy cream in a saucepan over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling. Stir occasionally.
Step 3: Add White Chocolate
Reduce heat to low. Add chopped white chocolate and salt. Whisk until fully melted and smooth.
Step 4: Add Vanilla and Adjust
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and taste. Add a splash of milk if the mixture feels too rich.
Step 5: Serve
Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use real white chocolate containing cocoa butter for the best taste and texture.
Keep the heat low to prevent the milk from curdling.
Whisk continuously for a silky consistency.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat gently over low heat.
Avoid freezing; dairy and chocolate separate when thawed.
