These Easy Homemade Churro Bars are a delightful twist on the traditional churro, offering a soft and gooey texture that will remind you of your Abuela’s kitchen.

1 cup butter softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar packed
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the bars are baking, mix together the topping sugars and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Once baked, remove the bars from the oven and immediately sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar topping.
- Allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can drizzle some melted chocolate or caramel sauce on top before serving.
