Granulated sugar
Egg yolk

Red sanding sugar

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the red food coloring until the desired color is achieved.
- Roll the dough into small balls, then roll each ball in red sanding sugar.
- Place the sugar-coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and immediately press a Hershey Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
