Ingredients
1.5 lb sirloin steak cut into 1-inch pieces
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
20 oz fresh or frozen cheese tortellini
1 tablespoon salt for pasta water
4 tablespoon butter
6 cloves garlic minced
1.5 cups heavy cream
1 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ cup reserved pasta water as needed
¼ cup fresh parsley chopped
¼ cup parmesan cheese extra for topping
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and season the steak pieces with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Sear the steak until browned, about 3-4 minutes, then remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic, cooking for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream, grated parmesan, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Cook tortellini according to package instructions; drain, reserving some pasta water.
- Add the cooked tortellini and seared steak back to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Use reserved pasta water as needed to adjust the sauce consistency.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and additional parmesan before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp for a different flavor. Ensure the tortellini is cooked al dente for the best texture.
