Ingredients
1 pound lean ground turkey
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion
finely chopped
2 cloves garlic
minced
1 packet taco seasoning
1/2 cup tomato sauce
8 small taco shells
1 avocado
peeled and pitted
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and tomato sauce, cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
- Spoon the turkey mixture into taco shells and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the shells are crispy.
- While the tacos bake, prepare the avocado sauce by blending the avocado, Greek yogurt, cilantro, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Serve the tacos warm, drizzled with avocado sauce.
Notes
Feel free to substitute ground chicken or beef for the turkey, and use sour cream instead of Greek yogurt for a richer flavor.
