skinless chicken breasts (5–8 oz. each)
Salt and pepper
3 tablespoons butter
divided
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon flour
Fresh parsley
to garnish (optional)
1 cup low sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 (1 oz.) packet
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and brown them for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and melt it, then stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, then add the milk and sour cream, stirring until the sauce is smooth.
- Add the onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and ranch seasoning. Stir well.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Feel free to serve this dish with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
