Ingredients
Scale
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
6 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 slices ham
6 tablespoons butter
½ cup dry white wine
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the flour and paprika together.
- Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness.
- Remove the plastic wrap, and layer each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.
- Roll up each chicken breast tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Dredge each chicken roll in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown on all sides.
- Transfer chicken to a baking dish and pour the white wine and chicken bouillon around the chicken.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
- In the meantime, combine heavy cream and cornstarch in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until thickened, and season to taste.
- Serve the chicken cordon bleu drizzled with the creamy sauce.
Notes
For an extra crispy texture, consider breading the chicken rolls before baking.
