1 tablespoon ground cinnamon for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
