Description
Delight in these fresh and savory Chicken Lettuce Wraps that echo the flavors of P.F. Chang’s, making for a perfect appetizer or main dish.
Ingredients
3 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
2 Tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce
2 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. Sriracha (optional)
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium onion
diced
2 cloves garlic
minced
1 Tbsp. freshly grated ginger
1 lb. ground chicken
1/2 cup canned water chestnuts
drained and sliced
2 green onions
thinly sliced
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Large leafy lettuce (leaves separated)
for serving
Cooked white rice
for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, Sriracha, and sesame oil. Mix well and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the ground chicken, cooking until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Break up the chicken as it cooks.
- Add the sliced water chestnuts and the sauce mixture to the cooked chicken. Stir well to combine and let simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.
- Serve the chicken mixture in lettuce leaves, optionally with cooked white rice on the side.
Notes
For an added crunch, feel free to include chopped vegetables such as bell peppers or carrots in the chicken mixture.
