Description
Delightful Chick Macarons are charming, vibrant treats that are perfect for any celebration. These cute little egg-shaped confections are made from almond flour and filled with rich buttercream or chocolate ganache, making them both adorable and delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup almond flour
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
3 large egg whites
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Food coloring (yellow for chick color)
Buttercream or chocolate ganache for filling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar to ensure there are no lumps.
- In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until frothy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the whipped egg whites, being careful not to deflate the mixture. Add the vanilla extract and food coloring, mixing until combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Let the piped macarons rest for about 30 minutes, or until a skin forms on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the macarons are firm and no longer sticky.
- Allow the macarons to cool completely before removing them from the baking sheet.
- Once cooled, pair the macarons and fill them with buttercream or chocolate ganache.
- Serve and enjoy your adorable Chick Macarons!
Notes
Make sure to age the egg whites for better stability, and feel free to adjust the food coloring for a fun twist!
