2 sheets puff pastry thawed
6 cups thinly sliced Granny Smith apples
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons unsalted butter diced
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Mix until the apples are well coated.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and fit them into a baking dish.
- Pour the apple mixture into the pastry-lined dish and dot with diced butter.
- Cover with the second sheet of pastry and cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to create a glaze.
- Once baked, allow to cool slightly, then drizzle the glaze over the apple slices.
Notes
