1 lb ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion finely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup tomato sauce or marinara
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar mozzarella or blend)
1 package frozen tater tots
Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, heavy cream, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a baking dish, layer the beef mixture, followed by half of the shredded cheese. Top with the frozen tater tots, then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped green onions or parsley. Serve warm.

For extra flavor, you can add spices like chili powder or cumin to the beef mixture.
