Description
Butter Rice is a simple yet flavorful side dish that pairs beautifully with a variety of main courses. The addition of butter gives the rice a rich and creamy texture, while the option of fresh parsley adds a touch of color and freshness.
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup long-grain rice (rinsed)
2 cups water
2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, stir in the salt and butter. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let the rice sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork.
- If desired, stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using chicken or vegetable broth instead of water. Adjust the salt to taste based on your preference.
