Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine bread flour and a pinch of salt.
- Mix in warm water and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into portions and braid each portion into a bun shape.
- Place the braided buns on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a kosher version, skip the butter when serving and just enjoy the buns warm. These are also delicious for breakfast with a spread.
