Description

These Braided Challah Buns are soft, tender, and perfect for any meal. Their beautiful braiding adds a touch of elegance to your dinner table.

Ingredients

Bread flour

Sesame Seeds

Butter

Egg Wash

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine bread flour and a pinch of salt.
  • Mix in warm water and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
  • Divide the dough into portions and braid each portion into a bun shape.
  • Place the braided buns on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Brush the tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a kosher version, skip the butter when serving and just enjoy the buns warm. These are also delicious for breakfast with a spread.
