1 cup powdered sugar

23 tablespoons milk or heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 tablespoon lemon juice for lemon glaze

pinch of salt


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the cold buttermilk until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the blueberries.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat it into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  • Cut the biscuits using a round cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush the tops with melted butter.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk or cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl until smooth.
