This hearty Beef and Potatoes dish combines lean ground beef with tender Yukon gold potatoes, seasoned to perfection for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
2 teaspoons kosher salt

2 cloves garlic
minced
1 medium yellow onion
finely diced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 ½ pounds Yukon gold potatoes
cut into ½-inch cubes (no need to peel)
1 cup water
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons ketchup
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
shredded
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, diced onion, smoked paprika, and black pepper, cooking for an additional 3 minutes.
- Add the potatoes, water, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup to the skillet; stir until well combined.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top, cover again, and let it melt for about 5 minutes.
Notes
For best results, use Yukon gold potatoes for their creamy texture. Adjust seasoning to taste, and add more cheese if desired.
